Colchester Community Stadium
During 2007 Bowling Garrard Electrical where given the opportunity to get involved in one of our most eagerly awaited new buildings in the area. The new home of Colchester United football club. After many years at Layer Road, Colchester United were to have a new stadium. The 10000 seat stadium was built by Edinburgh based Barr Construction and comprises four separate blocks of seating. The building also includes hospitality boxes, a large dining area complete with bars and numerous other rooms some of which are open to Community groups.
Bowling Garrard Electrical had responsibility for the following areas of work:
Electrical Power, Lighting , Emergency, Lighting , Data Systems, Fire Alarm , Disabled, Alarm , Refuge Alarm , Turnstile Monitoring , CCTV, TV System , Public Address System, Back-up Generator System, Floodlight Controls
We worked with many companies, including Thorn Lighting, Panther Security and Clymac Fire. Bowling Garrard Electrical had a full time manager located on site to oversee the day to day running of the project. Much of our work can still be seen, a lot of the cable tray, basket tray and galvanised conduits located around the stadium are on display. We are proud of the quality of the work carried out by our staff. Since the stadium has opened it has not only seen some great football but also concerts by stars such as Elton John. Our contract value was £2.5 million pounds and we completed all of our works within six months. On time and on budget.
